The Huntsville Public Library has an extensive genealogy collection which includes local
history and archive materials. Walker County Genealogical Society members contribute to the growing collection which is confined in the Johnnie Jo Sowell Dickenson Room at the library. Computers are available for research and links to many research tools include Heritage Quest, New England Ancestry, Ancestry.com, Texas Vital Records, U.S. Census Index, Marriage Records, Military Records, Land Records, and much more. U.S. Census and Texas County census may be read and printed from the microfilm readers available.
The collection of microfilm also includes the Huntsville Item.
Walker County Pioneer files and Family Bible records are available for copying at 15 cents a page.
 

  

The Texas Tides focuses on east Texas related resources with emphasis on history, science, and multicultural resources.

   

Walker County Treasures consists of
9 collections of photographs and documents related to Walker County.
