History of the Library
               An open house on Sunday, September 24, 1967 was the culmination of two years of hard work               
                  and determination by a group of Huntsville citizens united as Friends for a Huntsville Public Library.

          Mission and Goals
                  The mission of the Huntsville Public Library is to inform, educate and culturally enrich the lives of the
                  greatest possible number of citizens of all ages and from varying cultural and economic backgrounds
                  by collecting, organizing and providing easy access to educational, informational, recreational and

          Library Board
                 The Library Board of the City of Huntsville was created in 1966 with responsibilities which are outlined
