Congratulations to Carlicia Alexander who won the 2018 Shop Small – Shop Local campaign! Santa drew her ticket during the Christmas Fair held in downtown Huntsville December 1st.
The big winners are the City of Huntsville businesses and economy, with an estimated $94,000 in local sales.
Main Street Coordinator Debbie Charbonneau reported that 4,700 shopping vouchers were given out. To receive an opportunity to win, shoppers had to spend $20 at a participating business.
“This year, our campaign ran from October 1 to November 30. There was so much interest, I had to order more tickets,” Charbonneau said. “The business spurred by the campaign had such a great impact on our local shops.”
Alexander was shopping at Twisted Moon Graphics and Vinyl for her entry into the drawing. There were 13 downtown businesses that took part in Shop Small – Shop Local.
The City of Huntsville’s Main Street Office was designated as a Texas Main Street community in 2001. The office works to promote the local economy and downtown businesses of Huntsville.
