Huntsville Public Library strives to provide educational, culturally-enriching, and entertaining materials and activities for all ages. Please view the list of our current programs as well as other related information.  

Cocoa Storytime

Get into a festive spirit at the Huntsville Public Library’s Family Cocoa Storytime.  All ages are invited to enjoy stories read by the Arrendale Princess, hot chocolate, and a craft at 10:45 a.m. on December 19 in the Staggs Community Room.  Registration is not required but space is limited. SAT

Do you need more practice for the SAT?  The Huntsville Public Library will be offering more sessions of SAT Math Prep, led by Professor Rebecca Garcia from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics from Sam Houston State University. Join us in the Nash Board Room from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 10 and 17 at the Huntsville Public Library. Interested participants between 7th and 12th grade are invited, Registration is required and can be here. Please bring pencils and a calculator. After School Zone

Teenagers, are you looking for a place to work on homework or just decompress after school?  Come to the Huntsville Public Library’s After School Zone where teenagers can come to the library’s Nash Board Room at 4:30 p.m. for a quiet place to work on homework or play board games.  Sign-up is not required but space is limited. Participants must be between the ages of 13 and 18. November’s sessions will be held on Monday, November 19. Shakespeare Theater for Teens

Following the success of the summer theater bootcamp program, the Huntsville Public Library is pleased to offer another semester of “Shakespeare Theater for Teens” in conjunction with the Huntsville Independent School District.  Interested participants between the ages of 12 and 17 are invited to audition for the upcoming theatrical production at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, September 20. Following the auditions, theater rehearsals will be held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, September 27, October 4, October 18, October 25, November 1, November 15, and November 29.  The program will be led by HISD teacher Ian McPhail. Teen Film Club

Teens, did you miss a movie in theater?  Are you hungry for pizza?  Come to the Teen Film Club at 4:30 p.m. Friday, November 9 to enjoy a PG-13 movie in the library’s Nash Board Room.
